Because we ’re all usually so wrap up with the weather in our immediate neighborhood , it ’s easy to forget that , somewhere on the major planet , there ’s normally a cyclone , depression or tropical violent storm brewing . Not so this week , though — andthis image from NASAshows the Earth ’s skies in rare , proportional peace .
This image is a complex , made up of fourteen polar satellite laissez passer stitched together from September 8 , 2013 . At the time , there were no hurricane , cyclones , or tropical storms in the Atlantic , Pacific , or Indian Ocean basins . That ’s rare — especially given that it ’s the altitude of the cyclone time of year in the northern hemisphere . Also : does n’t it attend pretty ? [ NASA ]
