No matter how sophisticated and complex we get as a species , we ’re still influenced by evolutionary drives millions of years in the qualification . Case in stage : A newfangled study argues that human woman are seemingly drawn to deep manly voice . But is this work reliable , or just playing on our preconceptions about how men and women tie in to each other ?
investigator at the University of Aberdeen ran an experimentation in which 45 woman were shown an image , which was then named by a recorded representative . That ’s potentially a reasonably vast oversight , and while it does n’t immediately invalidate this enquiry , it does mean we have no fashion of knowing whether this apparent attractor to deep voice is really a grammatical gender - specific trait , or one universal proposition to all humans .
For that thing , even if the basic determination of this experiment is accurate – that women tend to focus on and better commemorate deep manlike representative than any other type – we ca n’t necessarily conclude why that is . There ’s for sure a possible evolutionary account for it , but it ’s also possible that this is just a consequence of a peculiar cultural or even individual context , and not something that ’s true of people in worldwide . These results do fit well with former experimentation that suggest women prefer “ masculine ” traits in men . It ’s broadly thought that this is a hangover from our ancient evolutionary past , where females would search for mate with the good genic quality . An abundance of testosterone is a proficient index of golden genetics and it ’s closely associated with various physical and aroused trait , such as a cryptic voice and aggression .
