Police arrested Skiboky Stora, 40, of Brooklyn, on Wednesday after a 23-year-old woman reported to police that on Monday morning, a stranger had struck her, the NYPD confirms to PEOPLE in a statement.

“The victim fell to the ground and suffered injuries to the left side of her face,” they said in the statement.

Stora is charged with assault. It’s not immediately clear if he has entered a plea or retained an attorney.

The NYPD did not confirm that Stora’s arrest was connected to an incident described on TikTok, but police responded to PEOPLE’s inquiry about the allegations made on TikTok with the announcement of Stora’s arrest.

On Monday, influencer Halle Kateshared a videowith what appears to be a contusion to her head.

“I was literally just walking and a man came up and punched me in the face,” Kate says in the video, as she breaks down. “Oh my god, it hurts so bad, I can’t even talk.”

In a follow-upvideo, she said the attack came out of nowhere.

“I didn’t see him coming,” she said in the video. “All of a sudden my head was just [inaudible] back and I turned around, and I saw him looking at me, walking away.”

Another woman sharedan accountof a similar attack that she said she endured on Saturday. The woman, posting from a TikTok handle @malous228 said in the video that she was “sore” and not as badly injured as Kate or Toninato.

“It was definitely a traumatic experience, it’s something that’s going to stick with me for the rest of my life now.”

But on Wednesday, TikTok user @malous228 shared in a follow-upvideoa “wanted” poster that has been issued for her alleged attacker. The NYPD said it could not confirm if the person in the poster is Stora.

The NYPD says an investigation into the incidents on TikTok is ongoing.
