Arrow is back , and it ’s letting us know a twosome of important things . One – no one can even hazard where this time of year is survive to go . Two – it ’s go to be implausibly sweet to get there .
Green Arrow rooter experience Brick from the comics . A unpitying punk with a brilliant intellect and a nigh - indestructible body , he was set up to be Oliver Queen ’s Lex Luthor or Joker , a character that is both an resister and a funhouse mirror version of the bomber . This instalment , “ leave behind Behind ” , brings him in smooth as a butter ice rink . This is very well done . We start out by watching Roy and Digg trance one half of a distich who blast a cop . It turns out that both of these guys work for Danny Brickwell , a guy who stays out of poky because witnesses against him keep disappearing .
In fact , he ’s evaporate the other one-half of the duo right that second . Brick ’s method of executing is odd . He gives the cowering mankind his gun , and offers him a barren shot . Which he takes , but aside from a little rakehell , bullets do n’t seem to affect Brick . He turn around and – oh my god ! It’sVinnie Jones ! To give you some idea of how stark Vinnie Jones is for this , he has already toy a guy rope named Brick . He ’s also dally guy rope named Killer , The Extractor , and Rover , Ryker , and Sarge .
He disappear a few masses in this episode , but more significantly , he vanish some things . Namely , all the evidence from all the crook bring in from the last eight months . The criminals get out of jail , but Brick has the evidence to put them back , and he wants their avail to take over the Glades !
That should be dissatisfactory . It miss ambition , to say the least . What would you say to a guy who hatches a scheme like that and his only end is to take over the bad part of a urban center that has been declare a disaster arena twice in the last twenty calendar month ? That ’s like exalting because you ’re the only one who can drown in a pool someone crapped in . However , Arrow saves itself . Brick and Digg get into a fight that ’s amazing – two big guys swinging each other around like batons . Brick gets the upper helping hand , but is put out of the battle when Roy shoots him with an arrow , and both submarine sandwich realize that arrows work on this guy when bullet train do n’t . We ’ve eventually follow up with a villain that it makes complete gumption to fight with pointer or else of bullets !
Brick might not have been able to steal that grounds , but as the recovered Arrow team rushed to break off a motortruck full of evidence leaving a storage quickness , a room access slam shut out in their aspect . And Felicity was the one who bang it .
felicitousness spent the episode tremulously holding out hope for Ollie ’s return . When it became exonerated that that was n’t going to happen , she did a hatful of significant angry yelling . She yelled at Ray , saying that Anna , his bride-to-be , would n’t require him committing suicide by vigilantism . And she yelled at Malcolm Merlyn , when he arrive to confirm Ollie ’s last .
Then she shuts it all down . She quits on Ray , and she walks out on the Arrowcave , saying they ’re all done without Ollie . If you retrieve , Felicity was the pal / accompliceof a guy cable got flatten while stress to make the world a better place well before the Arrow team assembled . essentially , she has become the ornery old mentor in the hero ’s journey . You know the one . She ’s seen fortune of young whippersnapper come in , thinking they can change the way thing are . You live what happens to them ? They become flat . She ’s not getting involved . She ’s too sure-enough for that foolishness .
How does Malcolm know Ollie is beat ? Well , first he strolls decently into the Arrowcave , while Digg points two gun at him , asks them a few cultured questions about whether they ’ve pick up from Ollie since the affaire d’honneur . Then he strolls out again . When he learns Ollie ’s fate , he goes back , and apologise to them for causing Ollie ’s death , and talks about how he can see Felicity ’s lovemaking for Ollie . Then he conk out to Thea , and severalise her that they have to get the hell out of Dodge .
But to really understand Merlyn , you have to see what he does to confirm the death . He live out to the duel site – which we see last meter was at the top of a nearly impossibly high and sheer cliff – and scouts around . In the darkness . Does he bring a flashlight ? you may go right to hell if you think he does . He bring in a lantern , and not a small one . He brings a giant , elaborately carved lantern that he has to bind aloft over the ravine Oliver fall into . Why ? Because his pelt is made of moonlight and his pilus is the wickedness between the champion . Because his hand are made of rainwater and ivory and his teeth are the line of white ledgeman on a beach . Because he is hell dust in the desert and he is the sound of an baby quiescence . Because he ’s Malcolm Merlyn , that ’s why !
Also , does anything think that Thea is now the show ’s most pitiful character . Her chum is numb , her father is using her as a murder marionette , her friends are operating a unavowed foot under her business , and they are all lie down to her about it , pretty much for no reason .
Of course Ollie is not dead . A mysterious trope do to get his organic structure from the side of the mass . It turns out to be Maseo . And Tatsu , hiding in a cave in the mountain , bring him back to life story , somehow . And he ’s fine .
In the flashback Tatsu ( Katana ) has been kidnapped by the triad , and Waller is n’t interested in catch her back , because she would n’t be Waller if she had the slim regard for human life story , or gave her employees the least reason to be firm to her . or else , she has Ollie and Maseo remember an important doomsday gadget factor that the trey is after . Ollie , during the operation , hesitates to shoot down a triad member . Amanda is angry that the triad member ca n’t be tortured , but lets it go . Turns out , Ollie fall away a tracking machine into the hombre ’s sack . That ’s clever and more utilitarian than just interrogation . Which means Ollie , and his pouty look and his proto - goatee an his frat - son - wake - up - in - after - a - weekend - in - Tijuana hairsbreadth is better at Amanda Waller ’s line than Amanda Waller .
And , finally , after seeing the hero disband and the criminals run free , Laurel has had enough . She masks up , lead out , and attain them with pin ! Long live the Black Canary !
