Ocean Ramseydoesn’t ride on top of peachy white sharks for fun or frivolous show . She does it to run off their image of cruel putting to death machines , to call aid to the fact that shark are seriously menace . Which really suck up , because they ’re crucial for the sustainability of the ocean and , therefore , our own species .
Like with wolves and other large predators , our figure of speech of sharks is twist by irrational reverence and hate . The veneration is rooted on hearsay — disperse news that get amplified and twist as they are fictionalise again and again . These unknown story make us anthropomorphize these creature . We give them human quality and emotion — like cruelty and anger — give them motive and turning them into thinking monsters akin to psychopaths . And once they are like us , we can hate them .
But the fact is that the only thing shark are trying to do is survive , contributing to the trophic Pyramids of Egypt that is the root and covenant of all life on Earth . Without them , that pyramid would crumple . Instead of hating and hunting them — base on the stupid thought that this our worldly concern — what we should do is get out of their direction .
How can she swim with sharks without being attacked?
It ’s pretty elementary : Ramsey is an expert diver , a surfboarder , and a shark conservationist who understands the behavior of these animals and respect them and their habitat . In her own words :
I ’m not advising that people go out and just jump in to the water with White shark or Tigers or other large species , just as I would n’t recommend skip into a yard with a strange dog . Sharks do need to be respected as wild animals and appreciated for their role as top predators in the ocean ecosystem . My shark experience have all been positive in part because while I make love shark are not reasonless man - feeder , I simultaneously have respect for their capabilities , a slew of experience interact with animals and reading dead body spoken communication , behavior , and I am comfy with my own body of water abilities while also trusting my dive partner . turn over the bit of surfers and natator who frequent shark territory in crushed visibleness often dress in black wetsuits or floating on surfboard portraying a seal - the like silhouette , it is a huge testament to sharks sensory system and intelligence agency that misguided identity bites “ attack ” are so uncommon .
