If it were deal without its tablet wharf , you might give the Padfone sound a 2nd flavor all on its own . It ’s really pretty , after using it for a few minutes , it ’s just as powerful and still as any other flagship Android speech sound coming out , like the Optimus G Pro or the HTC One .
The earphone is fast . Every app loaded up opened like lightning , though the selection was restrain due to lack of a connection on the demonstration units . But it was tranquil , and there was no stutter despite Asus ’s considerable alteration to Android ( it ’s built on 4.1.2 ) . The screen is just as beautiful as you ’d bear given the absurd resolution , but the thing that stands out about it is its vibrant colour performance . It ’s just so bright and saturate ( it did not seem overly pure , but we did n’t have clip to load up up pre - shot photo ) that it get your eye , even under raging display brightness level .
It ’s also comparatively scant , and does n’t find its 5 - in size of it . It ’s sort of like the Droid DNA , in that it ’s huge , yes , but find somehow less vast than its 5 - inch contemporaries . The aluminium body-build is fairly gracious , not top tier industrial intention , but in front of the curve . It ’s sort of reminiscent of an iPhone 4 crossed with a Zenbook .
The tablet dowery of the Padfone is accomplishable , and not as unwieldy as it could be . It ’s not as comfortable to carry as a Nexus 10 or an iPad , but still fine for handle as a tab . We were n’t able to get any content load up to try out read articles or books , but it seems like it would be adequate , though not idealistic . The 16:10 ratio on it is decent for holding in portrayal , but the phone being on one side in that alighnemt limits how much you might use it like that .
As for the switching , it was pretty unseamed . There ’s a 2d or two of singultus , but it ’s nothing that worry you as you trade from one equipment to the other . It ’s faster than the time it take to load a 2nd video display after stop up it into your laptop , for example . There was no detectable retardation fit from the speech sound to the tablet , either , but again , we did n’t have access to the really diagrammatically or processor - drug-addicted apps . But give its impressive guts , it would make sense for the carrying into action to be that smooth .
It ’s really pretty impressive . But for the tremendous 1,000 euro price , you could probably buy a Nexus 7 , or 10 , and the phone of your pick . You ’d be missing out on some of the orderly characteristic that Asus has here , and also the shtik of having two machine in one , but it ’s definitely worth think about if you ’re considering this .
