Then good old Ringo — my favorite Beatle — come up whistle With A piddling Help From My friend . Same upshot . It finger weird , but so much honest . I keep coming back to the stereo version for comparability and , before I notice , I was call back : “ These sounds a spate weak . These sound unreal . ” Gone was the separation of legal document in the right and left channel too , which now finger so artificial . It was stilted , since stereo was a novelty back then : Most people still take heed to music in mono and stereophonic system was the “ Modern thing . ” As a final result , producers overused it , just for the sake of it , like when 3D movie house came out and everything was an self-justification to fire arrow and rocks and monsters at the public .
I by all odds liked the elbow room the mono variant sounded — a lot more , even while I know the stereo version till the last beat and note . LSD come up : same result . But that was n’t all . In the mono interpretation you may hear stuff that is not in the stereophonic version . And not just bits , but quite a lot of things . legal document , notes , even lyrics . Take the reprise interpretation of Sgt Pepper ’s Lonely Hearts Club Band : It is full of shouting — Lennon going bananas at the death , and other bits at the beginning — that is not in the stereo commixture .
Maybe it ’s the gaud of listening to a “ new ” take on something that I know by heart , but I doubt it . As an experience , I like it a set practiced . So much that I ’m dying to get FLAC versions of good vinyl radical rips — or the remastered mono versions , as soon as they add up out . And while your gustatory perception may be different , from now on this is the version I ’m hold on in my iPod .
So yes , I ’m excited about tomorrow . To get wind how the new mixture are . I ’m sure the clean mono define will be fantastic , but I ’m really curious about how they managed the stereo system remixes . Hopefully , they have add up a Modern attribute , overriding the artificial panning effects , and create a stereo mixture that could be up to the original Beatles ’ sound . [ Gizmodo ]
