These days , it seems like Disney owns every major property out there . And while that ’s not true , almost all of them will be on display at the company ’s newest theme park , Disney Shanghai Resort . mark to open in 2016 , it will have new attractions based on Star Wars , Marvel , TronN and Pirates of the Caribbean .
Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed that Shanghai will have rides scream the Tron Lightcycle Power Run , a type of roller coaster , the Star Wars Launch Bay and Marvel Experience , a whole sea rover theme world called Treasure Cove and more . The Star Wars Launch Bay is discover as a place where “ guests will meet hero and villains of the saga , visit iconic intergalactic set - pieces , view props and memorabilia from the most recent Episode , and be immerse in the Skywalker story through a state - of - the - artwork cinematic experience . ”
The Marvel Experience permit “ guests to attend a multimedia system commission briefing on the humans of Marvel , get up - near with some pop Marvel Super Heroes and take on the function of comic book creative person as they learn to draw some preferent characters . ” So neither of those are rides , which is a bummer .
peradventure you ’re thinking , “ Are we going to get rides like this in the United States ? ” The answer is a definite maybe — and we ’ll hopefully find out shortly . Rumors have been twiddle among Disney fans that the fellowship will let out some newfangled , major theme parking lot additions at the D23 Expo in Anaheim , CA next month .
