It ’s taken a while , but between the additions to The Force Awakens ’ cast and the first-class Sabine and Hera on Star Wars : Rebels , the Star Wars universe is starting to better its roll of female fibre – alas , the same ca n’t be said for the toys , and evaluate by Hasbro ’s belated PR gaffe , that might not change shortly .
Over the weekend at New York Toy Fair , Star Wars accumulator fansiteJedi Temple Archivesinterviewed a Hasbro instance at the show , and the topic of word turned to the lack of figures for Hera and Sabine in the Rebels toy dog stock :

Male characters like Ezra and Kanan have been released multiple times already in many formats and musical scale , yet the best we ’ve seen on shelves so far is a single Sabine with a non - obliterable helmet and a yet - to - be - free Hera , both of whom are pack with re - release Stormtroopers . If we can get multiple Hans , Lukes , Kanans , Ezras , why should buff have to put up with unmarried versions of the female part ?
Let ’s not block that this is n’t the first time toymakers have issue forth under fire for under representing Star Wars ’ distaff heroes poorly – Disney came quick under firing forexcluding Princess Leia from Disney computer storage merchandise , before angry fansforced them to backtrack .
Hopefully , with the comer of Daisy Ridley , Lupita Nyong’o and Gwendoline Christie in the Galaxy far , far away later this class , ( do n’t you dare deny me my Black Series Gwendoline Christie to put next to my Brienne of Tarth , Hasbro ! ) , we ’ll be seeing a few more toy based on badass female Star Wars characters . We can but hope , but for now , this hooey should n’t have to keep happening .
