In the DC Cinematic Universe , before there was Batman , Wonder Woman , a Suicide Squad , or a Justice League , there was Superman . And now even he admits that misunderstanding have been made with the current slate of DC films .
By Superman , of class , we mean actor Henry Cavill . Cavill play Superman in Man on Steel , Batman v Superman and will also be in November ’s Justice League . He ’s as swelled a part of the DC Universe as anyone . And an interview with The pitch ( which is n’t online but we independently assert ) , Cavill say the chase about it :
Even if Marvel did n’t subsist , we ’d scramble . There was a style they [ DC ] were break down for , an endeavor to be different and look at thing from a slightly unlike position , which has n’t inevitably worked . Yes , it has made money but it has not been a critical achiever ; it has n’t given everyone that hotshot which superheroes should give the witness .
That should n’t be controversial , since Cavill is just state some middling obvious facts about the difference between how much money they ’ve made versus how well they ’ve been look back . I feel like now the right mistakes have been made and they have n’t been pandered [ to ] , and we can start telling the stories in the room they need to be told . It is even better to come back from a misunderstanding or stylistic error into the right vein because it will make it seem that much stronger . Wonder Woman was the first step in the right guidance .
