Most graphs of the planet ’s rising temperature just show one barroom , averaged out over the year . In this animation , though , we see monthly track record for each year overlaid on top of each other with a new time serial in each frame . The speckled line which represents the year ’s average motion each year too , while old track record slice into the background .

The overall effect ? Well , both a neat data point visualization and the terrifying truth that our planet just keep stick raging . Thirteen of the fourteen hot years were in the 21st century — and that statistic looks unlikley to improve in the come years ifwe do n’t playact heavily and truehearted . [ Bloomberg ]
