The actress, 22, and her supermodel mother, 57, attended the74th National Book Awardsat Cipriani Wall Street on Wednesday. Posing together before heading into the venue, Gerber and Crawford complemented each other with neutral-toned wardrobe choices.
TheBottomstalent looked chic in a strapless brown floor-length dress. The top portion of her garb looked to be a leather band while the rest of the gown appeared to be suede.

Crawford kept it classic with an ivory pantsuit and matching silk blouse. She accessorized with an ivoryRalph Laurenclutch purse and a subtle pop of color with pewter open-toe heels.
Writers of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, translated literature and young people’s literature are recognized at the annual event.
Kerry Washington,Emma Robertsand Karah Preiss also attended the event.
On Crawford’s Instagram Stories, she shared a photo of a stack of books on a table with a floral arrangement. “#NationalBookAwards,” she wrote on the image with emojis of books, a heart, and eyes peeking.
According to the organization’s website, their mission is to celebrate “the best literaturepublished in the United States, expanding its audience, and ensuring that books have a prominent place in our culture.”

Gerber and her mother also attended an event the night prior in the Big Apple.
Crawford and Gerber matched in black outfits for aPlanet OMEGA Fashion Panel and Cocktail Party.
“Just in case you’re wondering, she has longer legs than me,”The Super Modelsstar said, referencing her daughter’s height while pointing to Gerber as the crowd laughed.

PEOPLE caught up with the mother-daughter duo at the event where Gerber dished onwhich of her mom’s iconic looks she’d love to recreate.
After noting that there were “so many” options to choose from, she narrowed it down to one that stood out to her.
“The red Oscars dress I’ve always thought was just so beautiful,” she said, referring to theshow-stopping Versace low-back gownCrawford wore to the Academy Awards in 1991 when she was married toRichard Gere.
She also mentioned her mother’s1992 Pepsi commercialpop culture moment, but in the end, decided that she’d leave the classic looks to Crawford.
“But it’s like some things are just so good you don’t even want to touch them,” Gerber continued. “And I think some of those moments I’m just like, ‘Leave them there,’ you know?”
