New momNikki Bellaknows the importance of self-care.
On Wednesday, theTotal Bellasstar opened up about the steps she has made to take care of her mind, body and soul — all while being mom to 5-month-old sonMatteo Artemovich.
“Self-care to me is definitely mental and physical,” Nikki, 37, tellsSheKnowsin the Self-Care Digital issue. “I feel like mentally, when I’m taken care of, my outsides just look amazing. So I’m very big on meditation. Also I have a life coach.I just feel like we give our cars oil changes so they never break down. So why not do that to our souls and our minds so we don’t have these meltdowns or get into certain places that we don’t want to be in.”
Nikki welcomed her son with fiancéArtem Chigvintsevon July 31.

For twin sister Brie — who welcomed her second child, sonBuddy Dessert, with husbandDaniel Bryanon Aug. 1 — the mom of two says regular self-care makes everyone their “best you.”
Last month, the reality stars appeared onAshley Graham’sPretty Big Dealpodcast and opened up about all things motherhood, including postpartum depression, as well as the pressure to “snap back” after giving birth.
“It’s such bulls—,” the sisters said before Nikki added, “It messes with you, ‘cause [people are] like, ‘But how is she?’ Literally, someone the other day was like, ‘Gosh, she’s still big!’ and I was like, ‘Excuse me?’ "
“She makes me grab parts of my body I don’t like and I say, ‘Thank you for creating Matteo and making him healthy,’ and appreciating and loving my body. And it is weird how, slowly, you start to love it,” Nikki said.
