True Whitakeris asking the public to “not speculate and fabricate facts” about her late motherKeisha Nash’s death.
True, the 25-year-old daughter of Nash andForest Whitaker, revealed in an Instagram post on Thursday that her mother died at the age of 51.
In a follow-up post, True shut down a rumor related to Nash’s death, which she described as being “not relevant to my mother.”
“Going to say this one thing and then ask for space while my family heals,” the actress wrote on her Instagram Story Friday. “There have been statements from STRANGERS claiming the cause of my mom’s death.”
“My mom DID NOT suffer from anorexia, although my heart goes out to those who do,” she added.

True, who has continued to post throwback images of Nash on her Instagram Story since sharing the news of her death, then elaborated on her wishes.

Forest, 62, whofiled for divorcefrom Nash in 2018, met his ex-wife on the set of the 1994 filmBlown Away, in which she portrayed his girlfriend, CBS News reported.
The pair got married in 1996 in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and share daughters True and Sonnet Noel, 27. (Keisha is also the mother of daughter Autumn, 32, and Forest is also the father of son Ocean, 33.)

After confirming news of her mother’s death on Instagram this week, True shared a heartfelt tribute post dedicated to her, in which she uploaded several throwback images of the pair and other nods to their relationship.
One of the images featured an “I love you” note that her mother seemingly wrote to her, as others showed the duo enjoying each other’s company.
“Thank you for teaching me every single thing I know. I’ll see you in my dreams and I’ll feel you in my heart,” she added.
